Setups for Caravans, Campers & Trailers
We install brake controllers across a wide range of vehicles and trailer types, including single- and dual-axle systems. Our installs include controller wiring, connection to trailer plugs, fuse protection, and a visible user interface inside the cabin. REDARC’s Tow-Pro range is a popular choice for its dual-mode control and compact design, but we also work with other trusted brands.
Whether you’re installing a new system or upgrading from an outdated one, we provide advice and fitment that meets Australian regulations.
We ensure all wiring is safely routed, load-tested, and matched to your vehicle’s towing capacity.
- Trailer plug integration
- Full compliance testing
- Cabin-mounted control units
No guesswork, no hidden wiring—just a clean, smart install that gives you full control behind the wheel.
What does a brake controller do?
A brake controller manages the braking force applied to a trailer’s electric brakes. It allows the driver to adjust braking strength based on load weight and road conditions, ensuring smoother stops and reduced wear on the towing vehicle’s brakes.
Are brake controllers required by law?
Yes. In Australia, trailers over 750kg (and with electric brakes) must have a brake controller installed in the towing vehicle. It must be functional, adjustable from the driver's seat, and properly connected to the trailer’s braking system.
Can I install a brake controller myself?
While possible for experienced DIY-ers, professional installation is highly recommended. Brake controllers require precise wiring to your trailer plug, brake light circuit, and battery. Incorrect installation can result in system failure or unsafe braking performance.
